Cocoa & Chocolate

Cargill's cocoa & chocolate business offers the food industry a wide range of Gerkens® cocoa powder, chocolate, coatings, fillings, cocoa liquor and cocoa butter to help create the most delicious bakery, confectionery and dairy products, all over the world.

Our plants in Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Ivory Coast, France, Germany, Ghana, the Netherlands, UK and the USA produce in accordance with the highest food safety standards. To secure a good quality and sustainable supply of cocoa beans we have our own cocoa bean sourcing operations for buying, handling and exporting of cocoa beans in Brazil, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Indonesia and Vietnam.

In Belgium, Cargill's cocoa & chocolate business operates two factories totally dedicated to the production of Belgian chocolate. With the chocolate plant in Antwerp, and the building of a new green field plant in Mouscron which opened in 2003, Cargill has become a relatively new but major player in the European chocolate industry. Our operations are managed by people with extensive knowledge acquired from years of experience and a real passion for chocolate.

With our selection of chocolate we can create different flavours, textures and mouth feel to satisfy specific customer and market requirements. Our range includes a spectrum of dark, milk and white chocolate for industrial and artisanal applications, decorations and inclusions.

Our specialties include organic, single origin premium chocolate and chocolate powder.

In our cocoa & chocolate business, we combine in-depth knowledge of cocoa with Cargill’s broad food ingredient expertise.
